5 Year Old MBA Resume

While cleaning up the room I end up finding my 5 year old resume...which took me to a short jouney of memories of business school years

Yes everything happened there was beautiful and I had a big dream...don't know exactly where I am sitting now vs. that dream. However, one sure things is the fact I became a little more grown up since then!

I still miss my life in Ann Arbor!

Short Return to familiar but strange history from now...Ann Arbor!

Made a short hop-over trip to Ann Arbor, on the way returning to home. Back to AA for the first time in last 3.5 Years!

Everything was there as expected but there were some new stuffs..new business school building,

Maybe I have been here couple of times in my dream....For me, business school student at airport has always meant either being nervous or frustrating or refreshing...Anyhow everything has started from here and ended at here... The small food court just out of security check point I always grabbed BK at last min before the flight on the way to gate was still there....

Krisege Library!!!! Countless hours during 2 years at there..had lots of feelings during my 30 min sitting at there.. :) New building was great to watch, spectacular look and state of the art facilities but gave me a feeling "you don't belong here".... :)

Back to "normal" now... As old Chinese saying, Life is like a sweet nap in Spring....一場春夢

Commencement...

어쨌건 2년 조금 안되는 시간이 흘렀다..

2년간 순간순간 무엇을 하며 보냈는지는 잘 몰랐는데, 엄청 많은 일들이 있었던것 같다..

무엇보다도 공부한답시고, 직장 알아본답시고 허구한날 날밤새고 학교에서 보내고 출타중이어도 곁에서 항상 지켜봐주던 가족들에게 감사한다.

학교의 건물을 뿌개고 있다...


Section Mate가 Holly... 이란 내용으로 보내준 메일에 첨부되어 있던 사진...참고로 뜯겨나간 곳의 2층은 일명 골방.. 학교에 interview를 할때 사용하는 단칸방이 쫙있던 골목이다. 그 안에서 초조한 마음으로 기다리던 과거가 한컷 지나가시고..

물론 새건물의 완공은 나는 졸업하고 난 후..

맨날 보는 쪽에서 보아서 언제뿌시나 했는데, 안보는 방향에서 뿌시고 있었다.

설레는 마음을 가지고 바라보던 작년 여름의 기억이 떠오른다..
추억은 변화를 두려워하게 만들지만, 아름답기에 존재가치는 충분하다. ^^

비록 나와는 인연이 1년에 그쳤지만 그동안 수고 많았어요 Davidson Hall 나중에 내가 나이들어 Ann Arbor에 추억을 떠올리며 올때 새로운 모습으로 만납시다~

I visited Defiance Test Engineering Services, a subsidiary of GenTek, on December 9, 2005. I spent the whole day with Ms. Diana Roggenbauer, MBA '93, who was CFO of Defiance Testing & Engineering Services. She also worked on corporate finance for the parent company, GenTek.
I had a chance to join the meeting on the sales forecasting. I also learned about Ms. Roggenbauer's main tasks related to corporate finance, including SOX compliance of subordinating companies, and selling process of some other subsidiary company of GenTek.
The company was in a process of "turnaround" and restructuring. During that period, she had various kinds of tasks to cover, including managing the performance of the subsidiary. The company had a difficult time turning around its business, and the turned toward finding new sources of growth.
I was curious to learn the actual work of corporate finance and Ms. Roggenbauer kindly explained her role and her routine controlling tasks. She also shared recent information on Ann Arbor life and we had a great chat as she recalled her memories on her life in Ann Arbor and comparing it with mine.
GenTek is not a big company nor does it operate in charming industries. It is a general manufacturing company with many subsidiaries. From what Ms. Roggenbauer described, the company was suffering from a result of failure on past investments. Within this company, Ms. Roggenbauer's role was more flexible and she had more authority in designing her work. She was happy with her work, even though it was not a lesser-known smaller to medium company where she could apply her experience while she was in business school.
Finally, she told me she was a participant of DITL when she was at Ross and her participation as an alumnus came from a desire to give back to school. It was great to see the strong connection of Michigan network could foster.

Ann Arbor.. 두번째 학기...

벌써 두번째 학기...

첫학기는 적응을 하려는 기간이었다..
무엇보다도 개인적인 고민이 많아 공부를 제대로 못한것이 아쉽기는 하다만.. 더 큰 배움을 가졌으니 아쉬움은 없음....

두번째 학기..
이젠 Time Management에 집중해보려한다..
How many schedules can I manage in one time...

거짓말같지만...
하루에 1시간의 여유시간도 없다...-.-;
이번주는 하루에 평균 3시간 잔듯..-.-;;;
일주일중 유일한 여유인 금요일 오전을 간만에 늦잠으로 보냈다..

또 미래를 살아야겠다...

Late Greetings from Ann Arbor

지난 13일 운좋게 비지니스 업그레이드 되서 난생처음 비지니스 타고 와서 낑낑거리며 짐을 나르며 맞이한 Ann Arbor 생활이 어느새 2주가 다 되어 갑니다..^^

언제나 그렇듯 많은 분들의 도움으로 잘 정착하였습니다..^^
이번 주부터는 학교도 나가고 하고요...^^

뭐 새로울거 있겠냐는 생각도 있지만, 한편 오랫동안 열망해오던 생활이니 한번 열심히 해봐야겠다는 생각으로 참여하고 있습니다..^^

너무 늦고 바빠서 제대로 인사도 못드렸지만, 결혼식에 와주신 주위 사람들 여기서 생활하는데에 여러모로 도와주신 분들께 다시 한번 깊은 감사를 드립니다...

이제 슬슬 적응되면 다시 사진도 찍어 올리고 해야지~~~^^

Personal Signing Day Update & Announcing the end of Project X

지난 주말 최종통보를 했다....

물론 이미 한참전에 마음은 결정을 했다만, 3월 11일 부터 기쁨으로 시작해서 해오던 고민의 종지부를 찍었다.... 그래서 최종 결정은 University of Michigan Ann Arbor로 결정했다..

마지막 순간, 잠시 고민도 되었지만, 나에게 좋은 기회를 제공해줬던 나머지 학교들에게 진심으로 우러나온 안타까운 감사의 거절 편지를 씀으로 모든 과정을 끝냈다.

모든 과정들이 잠시 머리속에 파노라마 slide처럼 지나갔다.... 지나고 보니 너무나 많은 사람들에게 다양한 도움과 배움을 받아 진행했던거 같다. 공부할때 도와주셨던 분들, Essay봐주셨던 분들, 추천서 써주신 분들, 자기일 처럼 Advise주셨던 분들..중간중간 나오는 결과/Progress에 같이 희노애락했던 사람들..

이번 여름 개인사적으로 너무 많은 일들이 새로운 환경에서 예정되어 있다.. 잘하리라 그리고 새로운 마음으로 다시 시작하리라 다짐을 해본다...

이로써, 내 PC의 "Project X" folder와 mail을 분류해놓았던 Project X mail folder는 주 역할을 모두 끝내게 되었다..

앞으로 2년 열심히 살아볼련다.... 이번 여름부터
